Luminus is one of the key players in the Belgian energy sector, not only as a producer and supplier, but also as a provider of energy services. Luminus aims to assist its customers in reducing their CO2 footprint through innovative energy-saving solutions and renewable energy. Luminus’ legal managers fully support the realization of the Luminus strategy by providing pragmatic legal advice.


Luminus is looking for a Legal Manager to support its Retail department (selling energy and energy services to end users). In this role, you will have the opportunity to experience the energy transition firsthand in a dynamic environment.


Responsibilities:


  • You provide proactive legal support to our Retail department regarding our energy supply activities and innovative energy services.
  • You closely collaborate with the business to continuously improve the product offerings to customers and to develop new energy services and applications that help our residential and professional customers manage their energy consumption.
  • You formulate clear and to-the-point advice for both operational teams and management and assist them in implementing rapidly evolving legislation.
  • You draft contracts and general terms and conditions and support in contract negotiations with counterparts.
  • You coordinate and provide advice regarding potential (legal) disputes as well as complaints from public authorities and regulators.
  • You work closely with our external legal advisors.
  • You collaborate closely with other Legal Managers within the team, organize internal legal training sessions and contribute to standardization efforts.

Job requirements

  • Master's degree in law.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant in-house legal experience or relevant professional experience in a law firm specializing in business law.
  • Solid knowledge of contract law, energy regulations, consumer rights, market practices legislation and GDPR.
  • Keen interest in the energy sector and the energy transition.
  • Flexible and eager to learn continuously.
  • Enthusiastic, stress-resistant and commercially oriented.
  • Structured and well organized.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build a relationship of trust with internal stakeholders.
  • Capable of communicating complex information in a comprehensible manner.
  • Ability to work independently, to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment and to take decisions
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Fluent in Dutch, French, and English.
